Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter.

  3. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Mix well until everything is combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  6. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  9. Allow the banana bread brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
